Amatller Institute of Hispanic Art Foundation

In 1941, Teresa Amatller, daughter of Antoni Amatller, established the Amatller Institute of Hispanic Art, in consultation with Josep Gudiol Ricart. The foundation has the twin aims of preserving the Casa Amatller complete with its collections, and of promoting research into the history of Hispanic Art.

	The Amatller Institute of Hispanic Art’s library of 26,000 titles, photographic archive and photo library of 350,000 negatives are at the disposal of researchers and art historians.			In 1898 Antoni Amatller bought a house on Passeig de Gràcia in Barcelona and commissioned Josep Puig i Cadafalch to redesign it as his family's residence.
